I know the whole thing was covered up at the time and was only admitted

Not sure how true any of this is, but Diane didn't actually marry
until the seventies.

In the book, Berry, me, and Motown by Gordy's ex-wife, Raynoma Gordy
Singleton, the author makes a big deal about Rhonda growing up thinking that
she was bi-racial, when, in fact, she is Black.

If I remember correctly, there were always plenty of rumors about Ross and
Gordy. I think that Gordy acknowledged being Rhonda's father in his
autobiography. Can anyone verify this? I listened to Diana Ross' sappy
autobiography, Secrets of a Sparrow, and nothing was said of an affair with
Gordy (or any unpleasantness with Ross and other members of the Supremes, or
anything else that may be unflattering).

Yep, Rhonda did not know who her biological dad was until quite
recently. She's the splitting image of both of them. All of Diana's
kids are simply gorgeous.

And Silberstein is Caucasian. I'd never heard any suggestion that
Gordy was the father.

lousy middle-aged memory of details.

As a longterm Motown fan, I read this book and was disappointed. There are a
lot of factual errors in it and most of the info is second or third hand. Not
a very good read. Overall, it did not increase my understanding or knowledge of
Motown at all.

This set a precedent, and Mary and Cindy were on few, if any, Supremes
recordings again before before Diana left the group.

This isn't true. They were on very few singles, but on many of the album cuts.
even the album for "Love Child" had a number of tracks with them on it. In
fact, there were whole concept albums with Birdsong and Wilson on them. And
every one of the Suprmes albumsafter "Love Child" had tracks with not only
Cindy Birdsong and Mary Wilson singing back-up but also old tracks with
Florence Ballard.
