In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida only made #30 on the charts? That's a surprise! A One
Hit Wonder! From the same album, and it did receive airplay! I like it!...

If it got any airplay, it was as an album track & only because a dj got a
request to play something by Iron Butterfly & chose one of the shortest
songs on the lp. But, remind us again of how old you were in 1968.

He's got a Whitburn Top 40 book. On Billboard, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida topped
out at #30 in 1968, but almost a year later it reentered the charts & peaked
at #68 that time around.

Wow, always thought In the Garden of Eden was at least top 20. It was
ubiquitous for many years. The album must've charted very high, I know a
lot of people were high when they played it!

It just seems that way because it was on the chart for so long. It first
entered the top 100 in Aug 68 & remained on the charts for 12 weeks (it was
at #39 the last week it was on the chart). Then it reentered the charts the
following May for another 5 week run. So, it's obvious that radio stations
kept playing the song on a fairly regular basis for almost a year.

That's my guess, too, Ron!!! Just like the single of "Time Has Come
Again", by The Chambers Brothers, flopped and the LP made it shine!!!

There you are talking out of your ass again & hypothesizing since you were
too young to know anything about it first hand.

"Time Has Come Today" did not flop. It peaked at #11 & it was in that
position for 5 weeks. It was in the top 100 for a total of 14 weeks & spent
9 of those weeks in the top 30. Hardly a flop!!! And it was the single &
the airplay of other cuts such as "People Get Ready" and "Midnight Hour"
that drove sales of the album, not the other way around as you so ignorantly
assert.

Go ahead; take your best shot. You have no credibility to lose. Now, how
old were you in 1968?

LP re-recorded version and any siblings from it did much better on the
charts!!!

As BobbyM has already mentioned in passing, it's "Time Has Come
Today", not "Time Has Come Again". No wonder you thought it flopped.
It's hard to find a record, even in your limited sub-set of Billboard
Top 100 data, when you can't even get the name right. ;-)

You are ... within a few seconds. Close enough. You know, it's
possible to "fix" Windows 9x (which includes Windows ME) so that it
knows the new dates to make the switch.

An irrelevant point since the song appealed to people who bought albums and
not singles. The album containing the song has sold 25 million copies since
its release. Iron Butterfly are laughing all the way to the bank . . .
assuming they got fair royalties.
