Pop music of the era targeted by this newsgroup was marketed mostly to
the teen age audience.

So we have songs about surfing, hot rods, dancing, school, dating, and
teen age broken hearts.

So why was there never a hit song about zits?

(Or am I mistaken?)

I can't think of one, but perhaps some lyrics to a song included some.

The Canadian show Degrassi Junior High had three of the characters in a
band called "Zit Remedy", but that was in the late eighties or early
nineties.

1961 - Dylan & Jack Elliott performed a song called "Acne", written by Eric Von Schmidt.

1974 - Gallagher & Lyle - Acne Blues(45 b-side)

It was never a hit, but Mike Russo, Jeanne Hayes and The
Dellwoods, recording for Mad magazine, recorded a song titled "My
Pimples Turned To Dimples".

It's one of the videos that can be played from this page:

How could I forget John Entwistle's "Spotted Henry (Medac)" from The Who
Sell Out?
